SYRACUSE — SUNY Adirondack had four golfers in the top 12 as the Timberwolves won the NJCAA Region III championship at Timber Banks Golf Course.

The school’s first-ever region title qualifies Adirondack for the NJCAA national championship in Chautauqua, June 5-8.

Ben Hersey placed third overall in the field of 43 with a two-day score of 159. Connor Marvin shot a 163 for fifth overall. Ryan Bussing was 10th (172), Kyle Wilson tied for 12th (173) and Garrett Stevens shot a 183.

Hersey, Marvin, Bussing and Wilson were named to the all-region team as top-15 finishers.

The Timberwolves, who won their fourth straight tournament, bested second-place Onondaga Community College by 17 strokes. Monroe Community College had won the event in 10 of the past 14 years.
