Salem senior shortstop Jess Vidal was named as the Most Valuable Player in Adirondack League softball for the 2017 season.
Vidal helped lead the Generals to their first league championship and first appearance in the Class D finals of the Section II Softball Tournament.
Vidal was joined by Fort Ann senior third baseman Allison Vrooman and sophomore pitcher Kayla Bailey, and Lake George eighth-grader Tyler Bergman as Section II all-stars from the Adirondack League.
Three more Salem players were named to the All-Adirondack League first team -- senior pitcher Morgan Keys, junior catcher Lauren Christensen and sophomore pitcher Kyndra Riche. Also selected for the All-Adirondack team were Corinth senior Morgan Baker, Fort Ann senior Taylor Foran, Warrensburg seniors Britanny Frasier and Starr Hughes, Lake George sophomore Rebecca Jaeger and Granville junior Bre Greenough.
