Saratoga basketball: The City of Saratoga Springs Rec Department is accepting registration for its winter youth basketball leagues. Participants may register in person at the Rec Center, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Coaches are needed for all divisions.

Batting cages: Now open ($15 for 15 minutes or $30 for one hour).

HORSE RACING MUSEUM
Dec. 1: The museum will offer free admission for its Holiday Open House from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event will feature numerous artists, authors, photographers, crafters and other vendors with goods for sale in a holiday marketplace setting. Legendary track announcer Tom Durkin will appear as Santa Claus from 11 a.m. and will lead a special children’s book reading.
Free admission/promotions: The museum will have free admission all day for visitors on the final Sunday of each month, free Fridays all year (2 p.m. to close), free seniors admission (age 55 and older) all day every Wednesday throughout the year, and all active military and veterans are free on Veterans’ Day. Nov. 22: The 71st annual Troy Turkey Trot will feature a 10K at 8 a.m. followed by the grade-school mile and the Turkey Walk at 9:30 a.m. and the 5K race starts at 10 a.m. Registration is available at TroyTurkeyTrot.com. In-person registration, as well as bib and T-shirt pickup, will be held at the Troy Atrium on 4 third St. on Nov. 18 and 21 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Day-of-event registration will be held from 6:30 a.m. to 15 minutes prior to the start of each event on the second floor of the Troy Atrium.
