Lake George semifinal

Warriors starters wait at mid-court for the start of Lake George's state semifinal on Saturday at Veterans Memorial Arena.

BINGHAMTON - Coming into the Class C boys state basketball semifinals, Lake George carried a 54-game winning streak, dating back to last season.

On Saturday at Veterans Memorial Arena, that streak ended.

The Warriors lost to Middle Early College, 80-63 after being outscored by 16 points in the fourth quarter.

Chris Becker netted a team-high 18 points while senior guard Alex Leonelli added 17 points, including five 3-pointers.

Lake George trailed by one point at half and that remained the difference entering the fourth quarter.

With five minutes to play, Leonelli hit a triple, tying the game and forcing a Kats timeout. However, the Warriors would go scoreless for the next four minutes as Middle Early College pulled away.

The Warriors end their season with a record of 26-1 and will graduate seniors Mason Flatley, Chris Becker, Alex Leonelli, Connor Vidnansky, Colin Leonelli, and Daniel Pushor.
