Greenwich and Glens Falls will be in boys lacrosse state quarterfinals against Section I opponents Saturday at Mohonasen High School. The Witches face Westlake at 5:30 p.m. in a Class D contest, while Glens Falls takes on Pleasantville in a Class C game at 3.
Greenwich (17-1) earned its fourth consecutive Section II title and sixth overall with a 10-3 win over Cambridge on Tuesday. Jack Pemrick’s four goals and one assist, and Hayden Stalter’s three goals and one assist led the Witches, who are ranked ninth in the Class D state poll.
Westlake (14-7), ranked fifth, defeated O’Neill 20-3 on Wednesday in a regional semifinal. Mike Leva’s five goals and two assists led the Wildcats, while Rob DiNota and Kyle Doney each scored four goals.
Glens Falls (12-4) had its offense rolling in a 21-10 win over Scotia for its 12th Section II crown on Wednesday. Hogan Fox had five goals and three assists, while Nolan Hogan added five goals and one assist.
Pleasantville (16-4), ranked fifth in the Class C state poll, earned a 17-6 regional semifinal win over Highland on Wednesday. Brian Reda led the Panthers with six goals and three assists, while Declan McDermott had five goals and two assists. The teams played each other in the state Class B football semifinals last fall.
The winners of these games play in the semifinals Wednesday at Adelphi University.
