Do your job on the road first before enjoying home ice next week.
That’s the message the Adirondack Thunder are preaching to each other as they prepare for consecutive games at Newfoundland on Friday and Saturday.
It’s in their best interests, anyway, as the Thunder sit two points behind the North Division-leading Growlers, but only three points ahead of Reading. Even though it’s only January, wins and losses this weekend could result in a lot of movement within the division.
The Thunder have gotten the better of Newfoundland so far, winning three out of four games.
Defensemen have been an integral part of the Thunder’s recent scoring, as Matias Cleland has 11 points in the last nine games and Adirondack has two other active blue-liners with double-digit points.
