GLENS FALLS — The Adirondack Thunder and the New Jersey Devils announced a one-year extension of their affiliation agreement on Thursday.
The New Jersey Devils and Binghamton Devils will continue to be the Thunder’s NHL and AHL affiliates for the 2018-19 season, as they were this past season.
The Devils are Adirondack’s second NHL affiliate, after the Calgary Flames owned and operated the team in 2015-17. The Devils and Thunder also had an informal working arrangement during those two seasons.
Four Thunder players were on New Jersey or Binghamton contracts this season, including goalie Mackenzie Blackwood and defenseman Colton White, who played in the Kelly Cup playoffs.
Former Thunder goalie Ken Appleby made three appearances with New Jersey this season, making his NHL debut on Jan. 20. A total of eight players from the New Jersey system spent time in Glens Falls over the last three seasons.
