MOUNT VERNON — Pelham showed off its special teams in a 7-0 win over Queensbury in a Division II quarterfinal of the State Ice Hockey Tournament on Saturday.
Pelham’s first five goals were comprised of three power-play goals and two short-handed goals.
Owen Smith made 32 saves for Queensbury, which finished the season 7-12-3. Queensbury had just 11 shots on goal.
“They’re the No. 1 team in the state for a reason,” Queensbury coach Dean Williams said. “They’re fast, physical and skilled, and very deserving of their 23-1 record.”
