Ready or not, here it comes. The “Days of Thunder” are approaching, to use the team’s new catchphrase. The new ECHL team released its home schedule on Friday.

The Adirondack Thunder will make their debut at the Civic Center on Oct. 24, against another new ECHL team: the Manchester Monarchs.

The Thunder will play 36 “home” games, one of which will be at Herb Brooks Arena in Lake Placid during the State Boys Basketball Tournament at the Civic Center. The team will also host a “School Day Game,” a 10 a.m. game on March 18.

The New Year’s Eve game will continue, and the Thunder will have a fireworks show as the Flames did.

Saturday will continue to be the most frequent night on the schedule, with 11 home games. The Thunder also will continue a trend started by the Flames with more weeknight games than Sunday games. They will play four Sunday games, five Wednesday games, six Tuesday games and two on Thursday. The only night the Thunder won’t play is Monday.

Ten teams will visit the Civic Center next season, all in the Eastern Conference. Manchester and Reading will highlight the card with seven games apiece. Elmira, the closest team to Glens Falls, will come five times. Orlando’s 1,263-mile trip will be the longest an opponent takes, followed by Kalamazoo making the 744-mile trip from Michigan.

The full schedule will be released Monday.
