VERONA — Warrensburg captured the team title of the Red Devil Invitational on Saturday at Vernon-Verona-Sherrill, edging out Windsor, 175-169.

The Burghers had two weight-class champions in Tanner McKenna at 120 pounds and Hunter McKenna at 145. Tanner McKenna pinned Galway’s Brandon Grupe in 1:02 in their final, and Hunter McKenna pinned Windsor’s Langdon Sibley in 3:14.

Warrensburg’s Zack Davis (138) and Chris Wilson (220) finished second. Davis lost 12-0 to Brody Oleksak of Bainbridge-Guilford/Afton/Harpursville, while Wilson fell 3-1 to Beaver River’s Josh Greenwood.

WarEagles win

CASTLETON — Hadley-Luzerne/Lake George wrestlers went 2 for 6 in the finals as the WarEagles earned the team championship of the Joe McCabe Invitational at Maple Hill High School.

Logan Duers (152) and Cody York (182) won weight-class titles. Duers defeated T.J. Scaccia of Columbia 10-0 in the finals, and York pinned Adam Riley of Cairo-Durham 45 seconds into their title bout.

Finishing as runners-up were Mike Fuss (138), Gary Spotswood (145), Justin Hoffman (160) and Will Mitcham (285). Hoffman lost to Watervliet’s Owen Lyons 10-2 in the finals, while Fuss, Spotswood and Mitcham lost by fall.

Cameron Duers (195) finished third, while Carter McIntosh (106) and Quinton Fox (126) placed fourth.
