Queensbury boys soccer

Queensbury's Ray Jones (left) hugs his teammate, Matt Ricciardelli, following their team's win in the Class A boys soccer state semifinal against Garden City on Saturday in Middletown. The Queensbury Spartans shut out Garden City 2-0 and will proceed to play Vestal on Sunday.

Ray Jones of Queensbury was named league MVP as part of the Foothills Council boys soccer all-star team.

Jones is joined by teammates Teddy Borgos, Peter Crawford, Aidan Jordi-Donnelly, Alex Roca and Lucas McCane on the first team.  

Schuylerville earned four first-team nods with seniors Jared Everleth, Nick Budesheim, Mike Lanfear and junior Zach Saddlemire all grabbing spots. South Glens Falls had three players named to first team: senior goalkeeper Sebastian Maynard and juniors Bobby Bruschini and Lanning Torebka. 

Hudson Falls' Shane Grimes also was named first team.
