WARRENSBURG — Warrensburg (5-1 overall) delivered a statement field hockey win Tuesday, rallying from a 2-0 deficit to top Shaker 4-2.

Warrensburg coach Teresa Colvin said her team gained confidence from Sara Langworthy’s goal, her team’s first, going into halftime.

“Once we caught on to what they were doing defensively, we were OK, and the kids stayed positive,” Colvin said.

In the second half, Abigail Smith scored all three of the Burghers’ goals.

“She’s just so fast, she blew by everybody. Two of her goals were on breakaways,” Colvin said.

Isabella Deamelia, in her first year of field hockey, continued to impress in goal, making 10 saves against the Class A Blue Bison.
