QUEENSBURY — Megan Hughes scored 16 points, Sara Langworthy netted 14 and Hope Boland added 12 Tuesday night as Warrensburg defeated Argyle 57-45 in the Adirondack League girls basketball semifinals at SUNY Adirondack.

The Burghers (15-4) advance to play Lake George in the Adirondack League championship game game, set for Friday at 6 p.m. at SUNY Adirondack.

Warrensburg used a fourth-quarter surge, outscoring Argyle 18-7 to rally past the Scots (15-4). Kayla Raymond added 10 points for the Burghers, who also got nine rebounds from Hughes and eight assists from Boland.

Sam Humiston scored a game-high 19 points for Argyle.

“Our goal was to push the ball in transition and I thought we did a great job of that,” Warrensburg coach Scott Smith said. “Sara Langworthy really got us going early in the game scoring 12 of her 14 points in the first half, including nine in the first quarter. Megan Hughes had eight points in the fourth quarter as we were able to build upon just a three-point lead going into the fourth.”

Nikki Hladik added eight points for the Warriors (16-3), who also got nine rebounds from Mikayla Duffy.

Alondra Nims led the Tanagers (11-8) with 11 points and seven rebounds, Abby Monroe added nine boards and six points, and Karlee Nims had eight points and six rebounds.
