Joseph Girard III will make his college announcement prior to the Section II football playoffs, The Post-Star was told Friday.
Tournament play begins Oct. 19.
It is has not been decided how the announcement will be made, as the Girards are considering all options.
Girard narrowed his list of 25 offers down to a "final six" in June. He is considering Duke, Michigan, Notre Dame, Boston College, Penn State and Syracuse.

Friday night in a 57-0 win against Johnstown, Girard totaled 289 all-purpose yards and six touchdowns. Syracuse assistant coach Gerry McNamara was in attendance as the Orange continue to make a push for New York's all-time leading scorer.
Girard has repeatedly said he will sign his Letter of Intent during the early-signing period, which starts Nov. 14 and lasts one week.
With playoff football nearing, Girard's college announcement is only about two weeks away.
