Girard, Lilac, Luke honored by state

Glens Falls sophomore Joseph Girard III has been chosen as Class B Player of the Year by the New York State High School Football Coaches Association.

Girard, a quarterback and safety, helped lead the Indians to the state Class B championship in November.

Glens Falls head coach Pat Lilac was named the Class B Coach of the Year, and Cambridge head coach Doug Luke was chosen as Class D Coach of the Year. Cambridge also won a state championship in November.

Stillwater’s Curtis Miller was named Class C Scholar-Athlete of the Year. Troy coach Bob Burns and quarterback John Germinerio were selected as coach and player of the year for Class AA.
