Davis gets the clinching win

ROSWELL, N.M. | Queensbury's Ryan Davis earned the pitching win that clinched the Pecos League championship for the Roswell Invaders on Tuesday night.

Davis, a lefty, went five innings, allowed 12 hits and five runs (five earned). He walked one and struck out five in the Invaders' 17-5 win over Santa Fe. At the plate he went 1 for 3 with an RBI and a run.

Davis began the season with Roswell, then was traded to the Florence Freedom of the Frontier League on June 25. He was released on July 16 and later re-signed with Roswell. Davis finished the Pecos League with a 5-0 record and a 2.2 earned run average. In 49 innings, he started six games and had two complete games. He allowed 38 hits, 13 runs and 12 earned runs. He walked 22 and struck out 42.
