PLATTSBURGH — Ticonderoga’s defense and offense found their rhythms after the first quarter, as the Sentinels defeated St. Lawrence 58-40 in a Class C boys basketball regional semifinal Wednesday at Plattsburgh State.

After the Larries led 12-11 after the first quarter, Ti (17-6) outscored them 30-18 over the next two quarters and continued to pull away in the fourth.

The Sentinels will play Lake George, for the third time this season, in a regional final Saturday at 4:45 p.m. at Hudson Valley Community College.

Ti had four players score in double figures. Brett Mosier led the way with 15 points. Sam DuShane and Colton Huestis added 12 apiece, while Evan Graney scored 11.

“We were good defensively,” Ti coach Joe Defayette said. “We worked hard and kept them to one shot (per possession), pretty much. We’ve kind of harped on you can always control what you can do defensively.”

Offensively, Defayette said his team had some early success hitting shots against the Larries’ zone thanks to good ball movement.
