MOBILE, Ala. (AP) -- Corey Ray, Troy Stokes and Jake Hager each had three hits, as the Biloxi Shuckers beat the Mobile BayBears 5-1 on Monday.
Ray was a home run short of the cycle. Stokes tripled and doubled twice, driving in a run and also scoring one.
Up 1-0 in the second, Biloxi added to its lead when Hager hit a solo home run.
After Biloxi added two runs, the BayBears cut into the deficit in the sixth inning when Taylor Ward hit a sacrifice fly, scoring Brennon Lund.
The Shuckers tacked on another run in the seventh when Lucas Erceg hit a sacrifice fly, scoring Stokes.
Biloxi right-hander Cody Ponce (1-0) picked up the win after allowing one run on four hits over 5 2/3 innings. Opposing starter Dylan Unsworth (0-2) took the loss in the Southern League game after giving up three runs and seven hits over five innings.
Biloxi hit a season-high four doubles in its victory.
Lund tripled and singled twice for the BayBears.
