Ten area high schools are competing in the New York State High School Clay Target League this spring. They are Argyle, Bolton, Fort Ann, Fort Edward, Granville, Hartford, Hudson Falls, Indian Lake, Long Lake and Whitehall.

The first week of competition starts April 22 and culminated with the state championship on June 9 at Bridgeport Rod and Gun Club in Cicero.

The league is coeducational and adaptive, meaning students with physical disabilities can compete. Competitions are virtual, held at shooting ranges near participating schools. Conferences are determined by team size rather than geographic location.

It is a fast-growing league. Last year there were 370 students from 19 teams throughout the state. This year there are 1,149 students from 59 teams.
