Kudos to Ryan Blanchard for his letter on civility as to opposing political views!

However, I find the letter of Carlton Tucker “This is a nation of rules and laws” so repulsive that I am compelled to reply, particularly his parting remark “there exists a group, within our borders, who puts America last.”

Unquestionably, Tucker is a Trump believer. I would suggest let’s take an unbiased view of Trump’s decisions since taking office. He has unilaterally questioned our role in NATO, the European Union, our Far East allies, Japan and Korea and most recently will confer with Putin individually and alone. Yet all of these acts have not been done by our so-called rules and laws but rather by presidential fiat, which is neither a rule or law; in fact the only law that I recall is our new tax law where the average citizen has a sunset provision wherein the top 5 percent provisions are perpetual.

Speaking for myself as well as Mr. Tucker, I say both our families were immigrants as the first inhabitants were the American Indians, but let’s not go there, particularly when we suggest that we are a nation of rules and laws!
