I do not want to start off with any negative letters, but it bugs the hell (that which causes torment) out of me to look across the street, and I do not see any sign of respect to the flag of the United States of America. Whether at full or half staff, the flag hangs in the darkness of the night. The American Legion Flag Etiquette book states that the American flag should be illuminated when it is dark out. "Proper illumination is a light specifically placed to illuminate the flag, preferred or having a light source sufficient to illuminate the flag so it is recognizable as such by the casual observer."
God Bless the United States of America and Happy New Year.
