On behalf of the board of directors, staff and volunteers at Family Service Association, I want to express our appreciation to the community for the support of our programs and services in 2018. Every donation, big or small, meant something special to the families and individuals we helped. The local support of our local Tri-County United Way helped us keep 46 families out of homelessness. Donations from the faith community helped us distribute healthy food and emergency packs of diapers to families in need. The grants awarded through Stewart's Holiday Match and Adirondack Trust Community Trust were important in keeping families safe and sheltered. The donations from youth through organizations such as Kensington Road School, St. Mary's St. Alphonsus Regional School, local Girl Scout troops, Christ Church Sunday School, Queensbury Spartans Ice Hockey Team, and The Titans Softball Team warmed the hearts of over 1,000 children that we served through Feet First and the Holiday Programs.
I wish I could name every person and organization that made 2018 happier and healthier for those who experienced hard times. But I will say thank you to everyone who gave us their time volunteering. Thank you to those who donated to support our programs. Thank you to our friends who stopped in with a bag of personal items or nonperishable food. And thank you to the families we helped, who were always gracious and wanted to pay it forward.
Happy New Year!
Kim Sopczyk, Executive Director, Family Service Association of Glens Falls Inc.
