I am 61 years old and have been a Republican all of my life. At this time, I'm ashamed to say I am a Republican. One reason is a phone message I came home to today from Elise for re-election campaign. It said vote for Elise and then took a jab at Tedra Cobb. I decided to return the call, and a man answered the phone. I identified myself and began to tell him how displeased with Elise and the message left on my phone I was. Before I could finish a sentence, he immediately hung up on me. I called right back and the same man answered the phone and denied hanging up on me. He said somehow the phone call was disconnected. This is an example of the lies from Elise and her backers.
Back in the 1980s, I was the legislative director of our local postal union. I called Gerry Solomon's office to ask a question. Not only did he reply, but I was invited to his office to discuss this issue one on one. Gerry listened intently, and we talked for 45 minutes. He actually changed his vote after our talk. That is how our government should work. Our representatives should listen to their constituents and really represent them. Elise is only voting with the Republican Party, no matter what is best for our district, state or country. To repeat the way I started, I'm ashamed in 2018 to be called a Republican.
