Finally! A candidate willing to speak truthfully for herself. It was a refreshing reassurance that Tedra Cobb was the first (and only as of today) to abide your request to speak the truth to the media, to voters, on TV, and on Facebook. It was good to hear that she will “stick to the issues,” and refrain from the urge to follow the lead of our crass president who resorts to name-calling with nothing substantive to say. It’s a high bar, and I am confident that Tedra Cobb will measure up and take the high road in conducting a campaign of civility.
It was no surprise, however, that you had yet to hear from Elise Stefanik directly, and that her spokesperson dodged the issue. She has, unfortunately, been “missing in action” when it comes to communicating with her constituents.
Finally, kudos to The Post-Star in adopting a policy of only using direct quotes spoken by the candidates themselves. This should go a long way to helping elevate the conversation to a level of intelligence that has been sadly lacking on the national scene.
