I read “Shift apparent in school shooting guidance” with great interest. I heard a security expert say that the lockdown model was created for random drive-by shootings. Active shooter in the building events should not be met by huddling children together. He advised getting away if possible, using furniture to block the classroom door if not, screaming, and throwing anything you could get your hands on at the shooter.
