It's charitable only of you to play along with Dianne's dog-and-pony show whining points, not the least of which is Medicare's oh-so inadequate reimbursements for their services. The situation is upside down, in that the hospital should be on the reimbursement economy rather than trying to buck the trend with princely salaries and ungodly expenditures.
There are special managers for hire, called crisis managers, and Dianne knows this, who come into hospitals like this and turn these places around in jake time. They slash salaries, Dianne's $500K included, go after receivables, slash payables, fire the board, close unproductive departments and get the operation back on balanced footing. The present scene is a little like the locals feasting on a whale carcass until it's gone. The wrong management is in place.
