Here's a solution for the Catholic Church crisis to address the priest predator ongoing scandal.
Pope Francis, the people are beyond apologies now. You must make a change in the Catholic culture per se. Two solutions are to train and appoint women priests as well as allow both male and female priests to marry.
The Catholic Church has been the biggest ole' boys club of the world for centuries. I suggest that the reason the police haven't been involved directly for handling these sex crimes is that the leaders of the church are simply part and parcel of the problem. This abhorrent behavior by some of the priests is known and passed over, and even encouraged by the leaders to retain the priests by simply moving them to another parish. Basically, there is a real shortage of qualified, moral priests so they are very much still needed by the church to keep parishes up and running. No matter the cost!
As a faith, the Catholic Church and its believers are just as valued and no different than any churchgoing believers anywhere. They have faith in God and are good, true, and necessary members of their communities. But, until they recognize the overall harm happening to so many in their congregations by outrageous sexual acts by so many priests, the congregants are not protecting their youth.
It is time for Pope Francis to make a change and be the leader he truly could be. I believe he should recommend the admittance of female and male married priests. And, hand over the abhorrent guilty sexual offenders to the police to handle each case in a straightforward, unbiased manner. Drastic behavior and problems demand drastic action. Please Pope Francis, it's time.
