MOREAU — A young female driver sustained serious injuries and was hospitalized following a crash Tuesday, according to police.
The Saratoga County Sheriff's Office responded to a call of a serious personal injury crash on Route 197 in Moreau at around 1:15 p.m. Tuesday. According to a press release from the Sheriff's Office, first responders on the scene found that a sedan driven by the female driver had struck an oversized trailer traveling in the other direction, leaving the sedan's driver trapped inside the vehicle.
After being removed, the driver was flown to Albany Medical Center. No update on her condition had been given out as of Tuesday evening.
Moreau EMS and Med Flight treated the woman. Fire departments from South Glens Falls, Gansevoort, Wilton and Fort Edward were on scene to assist.
The cause of the crash is currently under investigation by the Saratoga County Sheriff's Office Collision Reconstruction Unit, Traffic Safety Unit and Criminal Investigations Unit.
