Woman charged after Hartford crash
HARTFORD — A woman from Greenfield faces numerous charges after she allegedly crashed a vehicle while driving drunk, with at least one child in the vehicle, records show.
Katie M. Gilbert, 34, was charged in connection with a Nov. 19 crash on Rowe Hill Road. At least one injury was reported, but police did not release who was hurt or how badly.
She was charged with felony aggravated driving while intoxicated, misdemeanor DWI, aggravated DWI and criminal possession of marijuana, according to the State Police public information website.
Gilbert was also ticketed for imprudent speed, failure to stop at a stop sign and failure to keep right.
She was released, pending prosecution in Hartford Town Court.
Man arrested, charged with burglary
QUEENSBURY — A 61-year-old Queensbury man was arrested Wednesday in connection with the theft of items from a neighbor’s shed, police said.
Jeffrey Syles was arrested in connection with a burglary that was reported in October, according to State Police.
He was accused of stealing tools.
Syles was charged with third-degree burglary, a felony, and released, pending prosecution in Queensbury Town Court.
Man charged with rape of teen
QUEENSBURY — A Queensbury man has been charged with second-degree rape for allegedly impregnating a 14-year-old girl, police said.
Austin M. Walczak, 20, was arrested on the felony charge after police were contacted last fall about an underage girl becoming pregnant, according to the Warren County Sheriff’s Office.
The charge alleges he had sex with a girl who was too young to legally consent. The state’s age of consent is 17.
Walczak was arraigned and released pending prosecution in Queensbury Town Court.
