Parts of the southern and central Adirondacks will see up to 8 inches of snow by Saturday morning as a storm brings heavy precipitation to upstate New York.
The Glens Falls region and points south will see mostly rain, with up to 2 inches of rain possible as it falls heavily at times.
But Hamilton, Essex and northern Warren counties will see accumulating snow, and the National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for points north and west of Glens Falls, running from 3 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Saturday. Three to 6 inches are forecast, with up to 8 inches in higher elevations.
Cool, blustery weather will follow for Saturday and Sunday, with high winds likely in spots on Saturday.
