LAKE GEORGE — The 27th annual 4-on-4 Million Dollar Beach Volleyball Tournament last weekend had more than 850 participants and raised $47,000 for Prospect Center in the two-day event.

Both days were sold out, with attendees from seven states as well as some from Canada and Australia.

The money raised will support programs at Prospect Center, fund repairs to the facility’s therapeutic pool and fund mobility equipment and communication devices.

“Prospect Center is the real winner in all this,” said Anne Schneider Costigan, spokesperson for Prospect Center. “We are honored and proud to welcome players and families from all over the U.S. and other countries and we are so grateful the participants have helped us raise $350,000 for children and adults with disabilities since the beach volleyball tournament began 27 years ago.”

Prospect Center began 73 years ago and services more than 1,200 individuals with disabilities in Warren, Washington, northern Saratoga, Hamilton and Essex counties. Prospect Center became a division of the Center for Disability Services in January 2013.
