QUEENSBURY — Two people were jailed early Wednesday after police seized cocaine and marijuana during a traffic stop on Aviation Road, according to State Police.

Ernest R. Jenkins, 30, of Troy and Cheyanna L. Brandley, 26, of Stuyvesant were charged after State Police stopped a vehicle they were in for a traffic violation near the Northway overpass, officials said.

Troopers seized more than 5 grams of cocaine and an unspecified amount of marijuana, leading to felony charges of criminal possession of a controlled substance for both Jernkins and Brandley, records show. Jenkins was also charged with misdemeanor criminally using drug paraphernalia, and both face non-criminal counts of unlawful possession of marijuana.

Jenkins is a former Lake George resident who was sent to state prison in 2017 for a felony conviction related to heroin and cocaine possession, and was on parole until last Dec. 14.

Jenkins was arraigned and sent to Warren County Jail for lack of bail, but Brandley's bail status was not available Wednesday.
