THURMAN — The Thurman Town Board will hold an emergency meeting pertaining to the water system at 4 p.m. Monday at Town Hall.
Thurman is working to install two new wells and hook up five homes and town buildings to a new water supply. The purpose of the project is to rectify a problem of a salt plume emanating from the area of the town’s old salt storage area and getting into homeowners’ water supplies.
The cost of the project is about $310,500 and the town was going to borrow money to cover the cost. Town officials said previously that they expected the work to be completed in August.
