U.S. Rep. Elise Stefanik, R-Schuylerville, has named Maddie Anderson as her new communications director.
Anderson is from Annapolis, Maryland and most recently served as the Southeast and Midwest regional press secretary for the National Republican Congressional Committee, according to a news release. Before that, she served as communications director for U.S. Rep. Brian Mast’s 2016 campaign. Anderson also worked on Carlos Beruff’s 2016 Senate race and for Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal’s presidential campaign in Iowa in 2015.
Stefanik said she is excited that Anderson is joining her staff.
“Maddie's myriad experience in the political arena will bring a unique perspective to our office. Her work ethic and expertise will be pivotal in communicating the results our office is delivering for the 21st District,” Stefanik said in a news release.
Anderson will replace Tom Flanagin, deputy chief of staff and communications director, who has accepted a position in the private sector.
Anderson begins her job on Thursday.
