SOUTH GLENS FALLS — Three police agencies are investigating the actions of an ice cream vendor who may have taken pictures of girls walking on a village street earlier this week.

South Glens Falls Police, the Saratoga County Sheriff's Office and State Police were involved in the inquiry focusing on whether a man who drives a Mr. Ding-a-Ling truck in the village acted inappropriately or broke any laws.

Police said middle school-aged girls complained that the male driver followed them and may have taken pictures of them as they walked in the area of Hudson and Fifth streets around 2:50 p.m. on Wednesday.

South Glens Falls Police Patrolman Phil Lindsey said the vehicle's driver was identified, and it was not yet clear as of Thursday afternoon whether he took photos or had any bad intentions. He would not say whether the driver had an explanation for his actions.

It is not illegal to take pictures of people in public places, and it was unclear whether any charges were forthcoming.

Anyone with information in the case was asked to call South Glens Falls Police at 518-792-6336.
