LAKE GEORGE — A South Glens Falls man was arrested Thursday for allegedly burglarizing a Lake George motel room two years ago, an arrest that occurred because of DNA he left behind at the crime scene, police said.
Bryan J. Dixon, 35, of Main Street, was charged with third-degree burglary, a felony, for a Nov. 13, 2016 break-in at a room at Pinebrook Motel on Lake Shore Drive, according to the Warren County Sheriff's Office
Nothing was reported stolen, but the suspect left behind blood that was recovered as evidence and sent to the state for DNA analysis, police said.
Dixon was later convicted of an unspecified crime that required he give a DNA sample for the state database, and the Sheriff's Office was notified of a match late last month, according to the Sheriff's Office. He has a history of numerous prior driving while intoxicated arrests, including one for a felony last December in Queensbury.
He was arraigned in Lake George Town Court and released on his own recognizance, pending further court action.
Sheriff's Investigator Chris Hatin made the arrest.
