The bulk of the latest snowstorm has moved out of the region, but the cleanup has resulted in a number of schools delaying their opening Wednesday.
Snow showers, including some lake effect snow later in the day, are possible Wednesday, as winds pick up and temperatures drop. The next chance of precipitation is Thursday night into Friday, with a mix of snow and rain likely.
Due to the weather several schools are cancelling after school activities.
Snow totals were kept down by a mix of sleet and freezing rain late Tuesday, but the Glens Falls region seemed to get 6 to 8 inches of accumulation in all.
Police reported a number of accidents and problems on area roads this morning, including one on Pope Hill Road in Hartford that resulted in a plow truck catching fire. No injuries were reported, and the road had reopened as of 5:45 a.m.
MOREAU — A 23-year-old man from Moreau was killed early Wednesday in a crash on Route 9, officials said.
A fatal rollover crash was reported on Route 9 in Moreau near Merritt Road around 1 a.m. Wednesday. State Police were not releasing the victim's name as of Wednesday morning, pending notification of next of kin. He is from the South Glens Falls area.
Hartford Supervisor Dana Haff said the vehicle was damaged but was able to return to the highway garage under its own power.
