MOREAU — A woman who stole $1,000 from a patron at a restaurant where she worked has been sentenced to 10 weekends in Saratoga County Jail.

Beth M. Coughlin, 40, of Lake Luzerne, pleaded guilty to petit larceny, a misdemeanor, for the theft last Aug. 9 at the Dunkin' eatery on Saratoga Avenue.

Coughlin took a purse that a patron left behind, which contained $1,000. She was arrested several weeks later after an investigation by South Glens Falls Police.

She was sentenced Wednesday in Moreau Town Court to the jail term, and court records show there was no requirement for restitution.
