QUEENSBURY — A Queensbury teen who was injured in a motorcycle crash over the weekend died early Thursday from his injuries, police said.
Matthew W. Bolz, 19, was taken to Albany Medical Center after the Saturday morning collision on West Mountain Road, the Warren County Sheriff’s Office said. He suffered severe internal injuries, and had been on life support systems at the hospital since the crash, according to police.
He was hurt when a Dodge minivan pulled into the path of the 2006 Kawasaki he was riding at the intersection of Bronk Drive shortly before 9 a.m. Bolz was thrown from the motorcycle, and taken to Albany Medical Center via helicopter.
The driver of the van, Frieda J. Garcia, 79, of Queensbury, was not hurt.
Sheriff Lt. Peter Difiore said the crash remained under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office’s Traffic Safety Unit and Investigation Division. Garcia has not been charged, and any decision on charges won’t be made pending the completion of an accident reconstruction, he said.
Bolz was a 2015 graduate of Queensbury High School.
