PrimeLink customers were without service for most of Thursday afternoon and into the evening due to a fiber optic cable being cut on Quaker Road, according to a PrimeLink spokesperson.
The areas affected include Glens Falls, Hudson Falls, Fort Edward and Queensbury.
PrimeLink dispatched a crew to the area and assessed the damage. According to PrimeLink, restoration is estimated around 5:30 p.m. as of 5:50 p.m. the outage remained an issue at The Post-Star.
The Post-Star uses PrimeLink for its phone service, which is unavailable at this time.
