WHITEHALL — A Whitehall man was jailed Thursday for allegedly choking a woman during a domestic dispute, police records show.

Bobby J. Chapin, 27, was charged with second-degree strangulation, a felony, and misdemeanor counts of criminal mischief and endangering the welfare of a child after an investigation by State Police, the agency's public information website showed.

The charge of strangulation alleges a person was choked unconscious or suffered injuries when choked, No serious injuries were reported, however.

Chapin was sent to Washington County Jail but released later Thursday.
