GLENS FALLS — A South Glens Falls man was arrested and jailed Tuesday for allegedly sexually abusing a child, according to Glens Falls Police.

Michael D. Ure, 41, was charged with first-degree sexual abuse, a felony, and misdemeanor forcible touching after an investigation by Glens Falls Police, records show.

He was accused of having sexual contact with a child who is younger than 13 in the spring of 2016, according to Glens Falls Police. Ure was acquainted with the girl, and the alleged abuse happened at a home in Glens Falls.

Ure was arraigned and sent to Warren County Jail for lack of bail.

Glens Falls Police Capt. Michelle Arnold and Detective Lt. Peter Casertino handled the case.
