KINGSBURY — A Queensbury man was killed in a motorcycle accident on Casey Road late Wednesday, according to State Police.

Daniel LaPointe, 35, was pronounced dead at the scene of the 10 p.m. crash just east of the Warren County line, police said.

State Police said he was riding a Harley-Davidson motorcycle westbound when he lost control, went off the road and hit a utility pole.

It was unclear what caused him to veer off the road, but State Police believe excessive speed was a factor. There was no indication drugs or alcohol played a part, police said.

A friend was riding a motorcycle behind LaPointe at the time and witnessed the accident, police said.

State Police said the investigation was continuing Thursday.

LaPointe owned and operated All American Automotive on Main Street in Hudson Falls for the past 7 years or so.

The shop repaired vehicles for the Hudson Falls Police Department, where Detective Scott Gillis said he was well-known and liked by the department's officers.

"He was a good guy," Gillis said.
