QUEENSBURY — A 22-year-old Hudson Falls man was seriously hurt Thursday night when he intentionally walked into the path of a pickup truck on River Street, police said.
The man, whose name was not released, stepped from the sidewalk into the path of a westbound 2018 Dodge pickup shortly after 10:30 p.m. The man was taken to Glens Falls Hospital and transferred to Albany Medical Center, according to the Warren County Sheriff's Office
Police learned that the man had been "despondent" and that it appeared he intentionally stepped into the path of the truck, as he wore dark clothing and was in an unlit area of the road.
The driver of the truck, 22-year-old Trevor Hopeck of Queensbury, was not hurt and not ticketed. Bay Ridge Rescue and South Queensbury firefighters assisted the Sheriff's Office at the scene.
