Police around the region were mourning the death Sunday of a Saratoga County sheriff's officer who collapsed while jogging.
Deputy John Brown, 45, was running in the Albany area when he suffered an apparent medical problem. The Sheriff's Office announced the death Sunday afternoon.
He had worked for the Sheriff's Office for 12 years and was a South Glens Falls High School graduate. He has also worked for the South Glens Falls Police Department.
Brown was a triathlete and had served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was the married father of a young child.
Funeral services will be held Friday at Grace Fellowship Church at 20 Delatour Road, Watervliet. Public viewing will be held from 10 a.m. to noon followed by a funeral service. He will be buried at Saratoga National Cemetery.
