KINGSBURY — The Washington County Sheriff's Office increased patrols around Hudson Falls Primary School on Wednesday after the agency received a call about a person wearing what appeared to be a clown mask near the school playground, apparently gesturing toward students on the playground, officials said.
The Sheriff's Office was called to the school Tuesday afternoon by a person who reported seeing someone wearing a mask at the softball field complex adjacent to the Dix Avenue school, making some sort of gesture toward students on the playground, sheriff's Capt. Tony LeClaire said.
Officers were in the area within four minutes of the call and could not locate anyone wearing a mask or acting out of the ordinary, he said. Officers also reviewed surveillance camera videos from nearby homes and businesses and could not locate any person in a mask.

Hudson Falls School Superintendent Linda Goewey said teachers brought children in from the playground when the person was noticed, but the teachers saw only a person with bright red hair and bright red pants, but not a mask.
As a precaution, the Sheriff's Office assigned additional patrols to the school area on Wednesday, and an investigator continued to look into the matter, LeClaire said. Anyone with information in the case was asked to call the Sheriff's Office at 518-747-4623.
