Stewart's robbery

This person robbed a Stewart's store in Arlington, Vermont, late Wednesday.

ARLINGTON, Vermont — Police are investigating an armed robbery at a Stewart's store in Arlington, Vermont, just east of Washington County, that happened late Wednesday.

The robber was believed to be a woman, and she used a crowbar to threaten store staff before stealing money around 11 p.m.

The suspect was described as approximately 5-foot-7, 150 lbs, wearing a black Carhartt jacket, light colored blue jeans, black gloves, light brown hat and wearing either a scarf or some type of a black mask. 

The suspect fled the scene prior to police arrival and reportedly left on foot, headed north on Vermont Route 7a.  

Arlington is the next town east of Salem and Cambridge after the Vermont state line is crossed.
