Woman charged with DWI
GLENS FALLS — A Queensbury woman was charged with driving while intoxicated early Friday after she drove into the back of another vehicle, police said.
Elizabeth A. Quill, 23, was charged with misdemeanor DWI after the 12:08 a.m. collision at the intersection of Broad Street and Western Avenue, according to Glens Falls Police.
Quill suffered a minor arm injury, but no injuries were reported to the occupants of the other vehicle.
Quill was also ticketed for following too closely, and was released pending prosecution in Glens Falls City Court.
Glens Falls Police officers Robert Foo and Samantha Smith handled the case.
Man headed to prison for felonies
QUEENSBURY — A Glens Falls man who burglarized a home while on probation for an earlier string of burglaries has been sentenced to up to 7 years in state prison
Richard M. O’Leary, 22, pleaded guilty last month to attempted second-degree burglary for an August theft of about $600 from a home on Grand Street in Glens Falls. He also pleaded guilty to felony criminal possession of stolen property and admitted violating probation for his felony plea to grand larceny for two burglaries in Glens Falls in 2016.
Warren County Judge John Hall sentenced him to consecutive terms that will require him to serve a minimum of just under 3 years in custody to a maximum of 7 years. O’Leary will also have to make an unspecified amount of restitution.
Woman accused of welfare fraud
FORT EDWARD — A Cambridge woman has been charged with felony grand larceny for allegedly defrauding Washington County’s public assistance program of more than $5,000, police said.
Misty L. Isidro, 27, of Turnpike Road, was charged after an investigation by the county Sheriff’s Office and Department of Social Service, authorities said.
Police said she failed to disclose all of her household income, which resulted in her receiving $5,075 to which she was not entitled.
Isidro was arraigned and released pending prosecution in Fort Edward Town Court. Sheriff’s Investigator Greg Danio made the arrest.
