MOREAU — A two-time felon was jailed Tuesday for allegedly burglarizing a home in Moreau, according to State Police.

Brandon A. Belair, 29, of Fort Edward, was charged with second-degree burglary and fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, both felonies, and misdemeanor criminal possession of a controlled substance for a burglary in recent weeks, police said in a news release. He allegedly had at least one stolen credit card.

State Police said a resident of the home caught the suspect fleeing the home with items, and troopers later determined Belair was responsible. He was also wanted on a parole violation warrant, and was located this week at Budgetel Inn in Moreau, where he has been staying.

He was also found to have items stolen from another victim in a case that is under investigation by the Saratoga County Sheriff's Office.

Belair was arraigned and sent to Saratoga County Jail without bail. He is on parole for a 2015 heroin possession conviction in Washington County Court, and has also served a prison term for attempted burglary.

State Police from the Wilton station investigated the case, assisted by state parole officers.
