GLENS FALLS — A man who was wanted on a parole violation warrant led police on a foot chase Thursday morning that ended when he was tackled in a hallway at Glens Falls Hospital, according to police.
Police began pursuing the parolee, Joshua B. Sousie, after responding to a complaint on Marion Avenue about "unwanted" people at a home, Glens Falls Police Detective Lt. Peter Casertino said.
Sousie was not there at the home, but officers learned he had been there and was being sought on a parole violation warrant, Casertino said. Officers began searching the area for him, and he was spotted crossing Hudson Avenue on foot headed toward Glens Falls Hospital minutes later, police said.
Casertino and Detective Sgt. Seth French began pursuing him, and he ran into the hospital's Pruyn Pavilion entrance and began running through first-floor hallways to try to evade the officers. Hospital security joined in, and a security officer managed to tackle Sousie and no one was injured.
Sousie, 32, was sent to Saratoga County Jail without bail on the parole warrant, and will be charged with resisting arrest as well, Casertino said.
Sousie is on parole for 2015 strangulation and attempted burglary convictions in Washington County Court. He was released from prison on Nov. 27.
